Lord’s Prayer: Firm and Slippery

Father, all about you is so steadfast and firm, including:

Your heavenly location

            Your name

            Your Rule

            Your plans

So firm.

How to transport those from the firm place to this slippery place?? Because in this place,

            Food is a constant need, for our hunger-fulfillment slips away regularly.

            The ongoing need for forgiveness shows our vulnerability and tendency to slip.

            And, we confess and profess that you are our Heavenly Father, and you’ve got us, but we also know that the opportunity to slip arises often, and “prone to wander, Lord, I feel it.”

Put us, Lord, in your firm grasp today. Deliver us from our slippery selves.
