Lord’s Prayer: Sacred and Common

Father, you are so SEPARATE from us—in every regard, you are so SACRED:

            Your name

            Your kingdom

            Your plan

Any way we can bring Your SEPARATENESS close to us? (Like: how can Your plan be carried out among us, who are so much lower than you?!)

Seems our existence is so COMMON:

            We constantly need food (you don’t)

            We need forgiveness (you don’t)

            We need protection from going off-track (you don’t)

Thank you that we of the Common

can approach you who are Sacred.

That we of the Common

can find our place in the family

whose Father is so Separate and Sacred.

You are our Father,

            We are your children,

And so thankful to be part of such an extraordinary Family!
